Banda Santa Rosa was founded in 1957 by Antonio Camacho and Cruz Lopez who inspired a band of young people to follow their passion to study and practice the unique Banda music of Sinaloa.
In hopes to expand their audience, the band relocated to the city of Guamúchil. Shortly after, they recorded their highly acclaimed debut album La Mula Bronca, produced at EMI CAPITÓL in Mexico City.
Spanning two generations of band members, Banda Santa Rosa has recorded an impressive 31 albums, featuring such hits as La Mula Bronca, El Romerote, Las Mañanas Amazurcadas, El Mocho Lencho, Desengaño, Los Temochis, Mucha Suerte, Para Saber, Cajón De Madera, Arriba Está el que Reparte, La Queremos, Sufro Por Ti, Poquito Peor and Homenaje a Don Cruz Lizarraga.
Banda Santa Rosa has toured across Mexico and the United States, and has appeared in many national television shows and motion pictures, including the films La Puerta Negra, Chelelo, El Pup and El Aduanal
Banda Santa Rosa has continued to evolve and adapt to contemporary times, under the expert direction of Pedro Castro Camancho, who has played a key role in the band’s success since its inception. Currently, the band is comprised of 18 musicians and vocalists who continue to promote Banda music everywhere they go.
Banda Santa Rosa recently completed its new CD under the Discos MM label for Platino Record/ Fonovisa. Soon to be released singles include Fíjate Bien (Las Víboras Venenosas), Y Ya Lo Vez, Quiero Saber de ti and Una Mujer de este Pueblo.
