Mexican tenor Fernando de la Mora has performed leading roles in the world’s top opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, the San Francisco Opera, the Los Angeles Opera, Houston Grand Opera, the Santa Fe Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Opera National de Paris, the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, Arena di Verona, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Oper der Stadt Koeln in Cologne, Grand Theatre in Geneva, Staatsoper Vienna, Teatro Real in Madrid, Opera de Lyon, Opera de Montpellier, Opera de Marseille, Royal Opera in Stockholm and Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, among many others.

With a voice exceptionally well suited to the French and Italian repertoire, Mr. de la Mora has given critically acclaimed performances as Hoffmann in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, the title role of Werther, Roméo in Roméo et Juliette, Don José in Carmen, Des Grieux in Manon, Gérald in Lakmé, Rodolfo in La Bohème, Rodolfo in Luisa Miller, Alfredo in La Traviata, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, The Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto, Leicester in Maria Stuarda, Nemorino in Elixir of Love, Cavaradossi in Tosca and Macduff in Macbeth.

Mr. de la Mora can be heard on more than 20 recordings, including Catan’s Rappaccini’s Daughter on Naxos, Lucia of Lammermoor with the London Symphony Orchestra on Deutsche Grammophon, a solo disc titled “The Artistry of Fernando de la Mora” on Telarc, “Love Duets” with soprano Youngok Shin on Universal, among multiple other compilation albums.

He has worked with such esteemed conductors as Zubin Mehta, Ricardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Charles Mackerras, Eduardo Mata, and Richard Bonynge. He began his music education in the National Conservatory of Mexico, studying with Leticia Velázquez, Rosa Rimoch and Emilio Perez Casas.
