Sofia is a young girl who cries sweet tears. This may have seemed unimportant anywhere else, but in her drought forsaken small town, it unleashes dark intentions among the adults. Sofia is forced to cry nonstop, supplying the town with water, at the cost of her own health. To her friend Felipe and grandmother’s grief, the abuse the girl must endure eventually kills her and efforts to save her are in vain. Despite its very tragic ending, the play is without a bitter taste, because the tears are sweet and the story is one of generosity, solidarity and friendship in a time of need.
