Healer and mystic, Teresa Urrea was deported to Arizona from her native Mexico in 1892, accused of inciting rebellion against the Government of Porfirio Diaz. By the time of her death at age 33, Teresa had travelled across the United States, drawing crowds of the curious and faithful at every stop. She steadfastly supported her people "Los Pobres of Sonora.” As "La Santa de Cabora," she became one of the legends of the Mexican Revolution. Teresa Urrea is honored in Mexico and the entire Southwest to this day.
